What is Copper & Grace? How did it all begin?

Well, let me enlighten you with a little story:

It all started in 2022 when I was missing home so much. I began sketching the Protea in many different forms and styles, simply because it made me feel better. It brought me so much joy and happiness, and I wanted to share this feeling with fellow South African expats.

Suddenly, an idea inspired me: what if I could share my joy with others through textiles? So, I started doing some research, and after three months of searching for the right type of textile, I decided to start my own designer Turkish towel business!
Another two months later, I found a place in Turkey willing to help me weave my design into a Turkish towel using 100% Turkish cotton yarn on a Jacquard loom, woven by villagers themselves, just like their forefathers did! The weaving process takes time, and the tassels are knotted by hand – which makes it even more special. As special as the Protea needs to be treated.

Once completed, they are shipped to me, where I hand-package each one with love and care!

This business is a piece of my heart on textile, but more than that, it’s a reminder of home. Whether you use them for decor or as a beach towel, they’re sure to spark joy every time you see them.
