I left SA in my 20's and moved first to London, UK, and then a couple of years later to Vancouver. I came with my boyfriend/husband but left all my family behind and thus do not get to see them as often as I would like. I missed them terribly especially when we had our own kids and family was not around to share the joys and frustrations. Our kids are now adults and we have navigated the ups and downs relying on Whatsapp and good friends.
As a counsellor, I specialize in anxiety, depression, OCD and chronic insomnia as well as offering personalized help for those struggling as they navigate life’s challenges.
I am a compassionate and dedicated counsellor bringing over 25 years of experience in pharmacy to the therapeutic space. I understand the unique difficulties and stressors involved when it comes to immigration and moving to different countries with different cultures. Believing in the power of alternative therapies and the power of nature, I work by empowering my clients to help themselves using CBT and lots of empathy and motivational interviewing. I am a trained CBTi specialist and well as being trauma informed. In addition, I incorporate a little of DBT and narrative therapy if needed but mostly working with clients to find answers to their problems and overcome their challenges.
