The South African barbecue tradition is more than just cooking—it's a social institution. Featuring grilled meats like boerewors (farmer's sausage), lamb chops, and sosaties (kebabs) over open flames.
Often served with: Pap (maize porridge), chakalaka (spicy vegetable relish), and grilled corn
South Africa's national dish consists of spiced minced meat baked with an egg-based topping, featuring Cape Malay flavors including curry, turmeric, and bay leaves with sweet elements like dried fruits.
A Durban specialty with Indian influence, this creative dish consists of a hollowed-out loaf of bread filled with flavorful Durban curry—typically lamb, chicken, or bean curry.
South Africa's famous preserved meats. Biltong is air-dried, cured beef (or game) with spices, while droëwors are thin dried sausages seasoned with coriander and other spices.
A sweet, spongy dessert of Cape Dutch origin with a caramelized exterior and a soft, moist interior. The hot pudding is drenched in a sweet cream sauce while still hot from the oven.
These sweet treats are plaited dough deep-fried and soaked in syrup. The Afrikaner version is crunchy and sticky sweet, while the Cape Malay version is spiced and coated in coconut.

We’re curating a diverse mix of stalls to create a truly authentic South African market experience. Vendor spots are limited, and there’s a $50 registration fee to secure your place.

Our market will be hosted at the beautiful Meadow Vista Honey Wines, a modern artisan farm winery in Kelowna. This picturesque venue is known for its award-winning meads, beautiful gardens, and stunning views of the Okanagan Valley.
Enjoy your delicious South African treats in our designated picnic area with beautiful views of the vineyard. Please note that seating is limited, so we recommend bringing your own picnic blanket if you plan to picnic on the grounds.
